REMEBER LIFE...

A silvery scene, as Psalms bleed, grieved in sadness
The grey king, He shaped things, conceived the madness
Black kids, in the end, entire nations imploded
Total darkness enfolded, as the screams and bombs exploded….

An old soul, She begot twins, now captive to one son
Jealousy…it twisted one, rage became larger than Big Pun
He stunned the universe’s patriarch, Father Time met Death
And His cries burned the sun until stars mourned his last breath
Murdered at midnight, by the Son he bought the sun
Caught & stunned, he ran past Pluto, frozen soul until it numbed
Then Death, in the legacy of Cain and Esau took Life
Crushed it before the stars as the nuclear warheads took flight
Shook off the stench of life lost, even as the earth tossed
Wives lost and the rotting bodies of children birthed moss
Mother Nature pleaded to her son, “Death, I love thee still”
His grin created a black void, crushing vertebrae to His will
“You loved Life more, and Father dedicated more Time….
Milleniums you gave Life..You gave Death an Instant shine…”
Rhythms and rhymes keep Life in motion, extra fresh & stable
Young youth kept Life flowing with words and turntables
I wasn’t able to seek their face or calm the music down
The sounds of Shakur & Wallace echo as their bodies hit the ground
I lost favor in generations, cousin Satan had lost His touch
I longed to ravage the Light that Badu & Common love so much
I hated Brown Sugar, despise the rapper’s delight
Burned Illmatic in flames, and pissed on UGK’s High Life
You mother, you gave them rhythm, the power to conjure Life
You adopted the beat….and made all words His wife
How could you disguise my strength and total domination
Allowed websites to flourish & conceive fruity loop abombinations?

My Son, Dear Death, I created two sons in love
Life & death were supposed to fit as gloves….
Your nature, your mother’s Nature was in the plan
And you two were destined to work hand in hand…
You’ve missed the essence, cuz of jealousy and strife…
Throughout Life they prepared for Death….and In death they REMEMBER LIFE…..

Of course it felt like Monday. The chaos that normally ensues when you hit the jobsite was obvious today. Things were not going well. Things were late…jobs were not being done properly, but I pressed on as the minutes turned into hours. The stress of the morning was oppressive. The stress of the afternoon was even more stifling.
