I wish I could be a fly on the wall for this family discussion.
Myron Rolle, a senior defensive player for Florida State was named a Rhode Scholar recipient this year to pursue his aspirations to become a brain surgeon and he also is a projected first-rounder in the '09 NFL draft.
Wow.
It may be possible for him to do both. But what if it is not? I wonder how he decides.
I wonder how I would decide. Let's just say he was projected an NFL contract for say 45 million with 15 million guaranteed. So win, lose, injury, death, hurricane, amnesia - he will still get 15 million for signing his name.
But he graduated undergrad in less than 4 yrs. It's not likely that med school would prove a problem.
15 million at least, possible Super Bowl rings and Pro bowl appearances vs. becoming a brain surgeon, one of the most notable doctors of all-time..hmm....
